Overview
Fury is shown here as a portfolio example of custom audio software development for the Reason rack. The instrument is a single monophonic DSP engine focused on aggressive electronic bass design: clean subs, detuned Reese motion, formant growl, wobble modulation, distortion, width, and controlled output limiting.
Sound Engine
Saw, Square, Hybrid, and Growl oscillator shapes feed a sine sub, Reese layer, FM edge, formant filtering, and tone shaping.
Performance Control
Pitch bend, glide, retrigger/legato behavior, and a mod wheel macro make patches brighter, more animated, and more aggressive during live play.
Rack Routing
Rear-panel CV and separated audio taps support layered bass workflows, parallel clean-sub routing, and external texture processing.
Front Panel
Fury's front panel is organized around fast bass design. Core controls cover Volume, Glide, Bend, and mono articulation mode. The oscillator area shapes the main tone with Sub, Detune, Reese, FM, and oscillator Shape. Growl, Vowel, Bite, Cutoff, and Res create the vocal and aggressive character.
Motion controls provide Free or BPM-synced wobble timing with selectable LFO shapes and a rate lamp. The output section stages Drive, Fold, Crush, Width, and Limit so patches can move from clean sub weight to sharper distorted bass.
Rear Panel And Routing
The rear panel exposes Note CV and Gate CV inputs along with Wobble, Growl, and Cutoff CV inputs. Each modulation input has a bipolar CV Amount control, so rack patches can scale or invert incoming movement directly on Fury.
Fury also provides LFO, Env, and Gate CV outputs. Audio routing includes the default Main L/R pair plus a mono Sub Out, Body Out L/R for the processed growl body, and Texture Out L/R for Reese side material and high-motion top-end processing.
Sound Design Highlights
Oscillator And Bass
Shape modes, sine sub, Reese amount, detune spread, and FM create everything from clean mono lows to animated neuro-style movement.
Growl And Motion
Formant growl, vowel focus, bite, cutoff, resonance, wobble depth, and BPM/free sync combine for vocal sweeps and rhythmic bass movement.
Output Character
Drive, folding, bit-crush texture, stereo width, and limiting make the instrument useful for both controlled subs and more destructive midrange patches.
Patch Concepts
The development repo includes 20 factory patch concepts, covering Default Growl, Clean Sub, Reese Drag, Quarter Wobble, Riddim Chop, Tearout Scream, Metallic FM, and related bass starting points.
